Stove Tips
Wood as a fuel
Wood is referred to as a carbon neutral fuel because the amount of carbon dioxide it will emit when burnt is equal to the amount absorbed during the life of the tree.
Overnight burning
Most Aarrow stoves are capable of burning for long periods and overnight. Ask your local Aarrow dealer for advice on which fuels to burn and which stove is most suitable for you.
Chimney sweeping
We strongly recommend that you have your chimney swept at least once a year and twice if you burn a large amount of wood . We have carefully designed our stoves with a removable or drop-down throat plate in order to make chimney sweeping as easy and clean as possible.
Seasoned wood?
Well-seasoned wood needs to be cut, split and stored for at least eighteen months to ensure that it is dry enough to burn efficiently. Seasoned wood can be identified by its light weight, radial cracks and hollow sound. The water content should be below 25%, test yours with an Arada Moisture Meter.
